Recently, a potential client wanted to know what kind of reputation we had. Are we reliable? Are we strong on design? Do we perform work correctly? Do we provide value? You get the picture!
While this potential client had many detailed questions for homeowners we had done work for, we understand she was just doing her due diligence. When you are spending a significant amount of money on a home remodel, you want to make sure it will be done right and to your specifications.
Projects we work on are often complicated due to a challenging existing layout, mechanical systems that have to be relocated, or bringing wiring or pipes up to code.
We always provide more than one design option that incorporates everything the homeowner desires. Lisa from Germantown, for example, wanted to move a window in her kitchen remodel, which necessitated rearranging all the appliances. We went through several reiterations of the original design to give her what she wanted. She told us she thought that there would be no way she would get so much storage and functionality. “Jonathan (Synovic) blew it out of the water,” she said.
Lisa was also pleased that Jonathan, the Dimension designer, walked her through all the material options, which we know can be overwhelming. “He is right there with you the whole time and works with really talented and experienced people at the various material vendors. He was great to pull selections and worked with (us) to make sure all the components fit into the design concept.”
Sarah & Matt from Sussex also valued that Jonathan respected their budget and never showed them anything that exceeded it. “Jonathan honored our taste and style, but also showed me ideas that I wouldn’t have thought or considered to make the décor/design pop. I never thought I was floundering on my own while I still had autonomy to look and choose,” Sarah said.
Approving a design and choosing materials (flooring, cabinets, countertops, etc.) is somewhat the “fun” part of the remodeling process. But when it comes to construction, there are often stories of some other contractors not showing up when scheduled, not cleaning up their work area, and not being considerate of the people still living in the home.
At Dimension-Design-Build-Remodel, we make sure the project moves along seamlessly and that our tradespeople and subcontractors work professionally and respect the homeowners and their property.
We are told that our scheduling is right on track. Besides the subcontractors and suppliers, we work with building inspectors in advance, so our homeowners don’t have delays between construction phases. We check progress regularly and if there are any issues, we address them immediately.
Lisa appreciated that Dave Kallie, MCR, CKBR, CAPS, Dimension President and CEO, was on site frequently, so anything that needed to be discussed with the tradesmen was handled. “I kept a list of little things for him to look at, but after Dave did his walk-through, he had all of my items on his list already, plus some I didn’t see. He’s super even keeled and commands respect by knowing his business and knowing it well.”
Sarah and Matt noted this on their basement remodel. “Dave was flexible when we decided to add an additional water line for a refrigerator after the work had begun. He also discovered a crack in the main water valve and repaired it and used extra wood/materials to add shelving to some of our closets at no additional cost. We really appreciated the attention and effort in those details. He was always realistic, professional, and took great pride in his company.”
We at Dimension Design-Build-Remodel, do indeed take great pride in our work from the design to construction to final walk through. We have assembled a team of highly skilled and knowledgeable professionals made up of experienced designers, tradesmen and material suppliers all working together efficiently to ensure a positive remodel/build experience.
