Summer 2024 - Okauchee Lake Master Bath
The homeowners of this Okauchee Lake home wanted to modernize their master bathroom and improve its overall layout and functionality. The existing built-in tub and deck took up too much real estate and the walk-in shower was too small. The existing view of the lake was a desirable feature as well as the two-sided fireplace.
Our design team worked through many scenarios. It was decided that the general fixture locations were the best layout option. A new smaller soaker tub was installed and turned 90 degrees to take advantage of the fireplace and lake view. The existing window was upgraded to a new Marvin awning style to optimize the lake views.
The shower’s footprint was increased with a built-in bench plus soap and shampoo niches, while the soffit was removed above the shower to enhance the space. A handheld shower unit with dual shower heads was also added.
Tile was used liberally throughout the space, which included a floor-to-ceiling backsplash behind the vanity. The cabinetry was finished with painted finishes to enhance the space’s modern look. New can lighting, wall sconces, and a backlit mirror were added and the vanity features toe-kick lighting.
The cabinets were finished with Cambria quartz countertops, and in-floor heating was added. A new two-sided modern fireplace was installed, with the walls on both sides accented with a veneer stone material that went from floor to ceiling.
New engineered wood flooring was added in the bedroom. The bathroom, toilet room, and bedroom were finished with a fresh paint scheme.
